I am a an EMDRIA-trained therapist located in East Tennessee and licensed in Tennessee and Minnesota. I work with men and women ages 30+ located in Minnesota or Tennessee who are high performers, perfectionists, overthinkers, and people-pleasers. Through traditional talk therapy and EMDR, I can help you learn how to feel more at peace, set healthier boundaries, and find more contentment living your life.

why therapy?

Maybe it was a story you told about your childhood and the room went silent. Maybe it was an argument between you and your partner and you thought “I can’t keep doing this.” Maybe someone in your life said “You should really get yourself some therapy.”

Maybe you just feel alone.

Whatever the reason, if you are located in Minnesota or Tennessee and ready to heal, I’m ready to help you get started with EMDR, traditional talk therapy, or a combination of therapeutic techniques.

about me

My name is Sheri Johnson. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Tennessee (TN license #9848), and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota (MN license #25707).

I earned an undergraduate degree in Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 1990, and worked as a mental health technician on a locked inpatient psychiatric unit for over a decade, caring for people during acute mental health crisis. I loved that work, but I wanted to learn more about helping people heal once a crisis is over.

I earned a Master of Social Work degree at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN in 2016, at the age of 44.

My favorite part of therapy work is asking the questions no one else dares to ask and experiencing how much lighter people feel when they can let go of shame.
