“We are each the main character of our very own story.”

stories…

Humans are constantly consuming stories. We scroll them while we drink our coffee in the morning and while we unwind at the end of the day. We dance to them while cleaning our spaces, driving our cars, or commuting via public transportation.

“You’ll never believe what happened today!”

“I have a story to tell you!”

We stare at them, we click on them, get lost in the comments, and we can’t wait to relay them to someone special in our lives. We pay to watch them on movie screens. We subscribe to streaming services so we can get more of them.

Stories, all of these.

The moral of the story… let me tell you a story… my grandfather told me a story.

My favorite bedtime story, my favorite book, my favorite movie, my favorite song.

Stories are important to us. We live with them, through them, by them.

And we are each the main character in the story of our lives.

tell me more about that

There’s a little quip that therapists are always saying “tell me more about that.” It’s funny because it’s often true. Individual therapy sessions make meaning and sense out of different parts of your story. I want to hear the stories you can’t tell at a party or a casual gathering, the ones that need set-up, context, and time to be told correctly. I want to offer you the safety to be vulnerable and feel strong emotions, I want to hear your story, honor it, and keep it safe.

sacred space

A relationship with a therapist is it’s own sort of bond, and can often mirror other relationships you have experienced. Our sessions will sometimes feel like friends catching up over a cup of coffee, and will sometimes feel heavier than that.

Perhaps you've tried talk therapy, meditation, reiki, yoga, and journaling. You might feel like you've tried everything. I offer collaborative counseling that honors the whole person of you and your unrelenting search for relief. Through traditional talk therapy and EMDR processing, we will explore the past, understand the present, and change your future.

I help men and women ages 30+ who seek clarity and healing. Therapy is your space, space to tell your story, make sense of who you are today, and work out who you want to be tomorrow. I help people feel more confident about life transitions, process and resolve patterns that originate from chaotic childhoods, learn how to set healthy boundaries in relationships, and just plain out feel more at peace. I can help you find your voice, identify your vulnerabilities, stop people-pleasing, and feel more settled in mind and body.

I integrate elements of several therapy modalities, including traditional talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for processing trauma and anxiety triggers. I have a varied and relational style and want to give you a great therapy experience.

I work from an eclectic mix of psychological theories, including Psychodynamic, person-centered, Systems, and polyvagal. I fully embrace the concepts of unconditional positive regard and strengths-based treatment planning.

I ask you to set the direction of our work together, and you can count on me to keep us on track.
